If you’re in the mood for a free lunch and want to show your support for agriculture, then Gar Tootelian has just the event for you.

On July 16, the Reedley-area business best known for supplying fertilizers to farms, will hold the first of six free events in Hanford where free lunches will be handed out, along with “My Job Depends on Ag” stickers.

Gar has been a sponsor and active supporter of the sticker program working to rally support of agriculture and the issues affecting it.

“Our goal is simply to thank the ag community with a drive-thru lunch and hand out My Job Depends on Ag yard signs to everyone who stops by,” Greg Musson, the company’s president and CEO, said in a press release.

“They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but during these events, lunch is on us!”

The events are expected to serve several thousand guests between Madera and Delano. Farmers, ranchers, dairymen, agriculture teachers and support professionals are encouraged to attend, states the press release.

Gar is teaming up with sponsors J.C. Lansdowne Inc. and radio station KJUG Country for the giveaways.

The first event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Overland Stockyard, 10565 9th Ave.

The release doesn’t disclose the other giveaway dates and locations, but it advises people to follow Gar’s social media.
