Business sale website BizBuySell.com reported that out of 39 businesses listed for sale in Fresno in the first quarter, the median asking price was $355,000, up 57 percent compared to the beginning of 2017.

In addition, BizBuySell.com reported that businesses listed in Fresno in the first quarter had median revenue of $637,180, down from 3 percent from the same time last year.

The median cash flow for Fresno businesses was $150,550 against the median cash flow of $130,000 last quarter.

Four business sales closed in Fresno in the first quarter, including a family medical clinic and a senior placement services firm.

These businesses had a median revenue of $373,590 and a median cash flow of $180,365.

Nationally, business sale prices reached record highs to start 2018 with a median price of $245,000, up 3.4 percent from a year ago.

The median asking price of sold businesses also hit a record high at $262,000, a 4.8 percent increase from 2017.

The restaurant and manufacturing industries experienced the most growth in first quarter activity with transactions increasing 7.6 percent and 9.3 percent respectively versus the same time last year. While restaurants also saw a near 3 percent increase in median sale price, manufacturing sale prices jumped 10.6 percent driven by a 23.7 percent increase in median revenue.
