Accounting America, Inc. in Fresno is pleased to announce that Jane Faulks, CPA, has been recognized as one of Intuit’s Top 100 ProAdvisors of 2016.  Jane is recognized as an expert In the Intuit QuickBooks community, and specializes as an outsourced CFO in the Central Valley.

Two employees of Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group have been recognized for involvement in their communities.  Alex Jones, EIT, an assistant engineer at Provost & Pritchard, was named the “2016 Outstanding Civil Engineer in Community Service” by the Fresno Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  Senior Planner, Dawn Marple, was recognized by the Tulare-Kings Linked Learning program for her work preparing young people at Lemoore High School for careers in the field of engineering and planning.


BANKING & FINANCE

Carlos E. Estrada has joined Union Bank as a mortgage consultant in Fresno. He joins from Pacific Mortgage in Fresno, where he was a loan officer for three years. He previously served as a district marketing coordinator with H&R Block. From 2005 to 2010, he was a mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo.

NONPROFITS

UCP of Central California, a leader in the community serving those with disabilities since 1954, has announced the selection of Roger Slingerman as its new executive director. Slingerman fills the role left by Jeffrey Snyder, who retired in June after 27 years with the organization. Slingerman, a graduate of Old Dominion University (ODU), served four years as ODU’s assistant director of recreational sports, before spending the next 12 years working for Special Olympics programs in Kentucky, Connecticut, and Northern California. In 2006, Slingerman joined Recreational Sports Club of San Joaquin (RSC) an organization whose mission is to provide sports and leisure opportunities for persons with disabilities while cultivating workplace skill sets, social confidence, increased independence, and full participation in the community for its club members. After more than 200 successful events and over 45,000 participants at RSC, Slingerman joined UCP of Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties where he most recently served as its executive director.

MARKETING

JP Marketing is proud to announce that Chris Estep has joined the team as a social media manager. Chris brings more than 10 years of experience developing meaningful and purposeful content for multi-national educational assessment products, and over 20 years of freelance web, print, and audio production experience to the team. Chris holds a B.A. in creative writing from San Francisco State and an M.A. in English literature from Fresno State.

CONSTRUCTION

Fresno’s De Young Properties announced that J. Ryan De Young has been appointed to president of the homebuilding company. He previously served as vice president of finance. Jerry De Young, current president and CEO, will retain his executive position as CEO.

ACCOUNTING

Alicia Sierra joined Moss Adams on May 1 from Deloitte, working out of the newly formed Fresno office. Alicia has practiced public accounting since 2013 and graduated from California State University, Long Beach.

Ashley Jacobsen joined Moss Adams on May 1 from Deloitte, working out of the newly formed Fresno office. Ashley serves privately held, middle-market companies, including in the manufacturing, food processing, consumer products and gaming industries.

Vera Vorontsova joined Moss Adams on May 1 from Deloitte, working out of the newly formed Fresno office. She provides audit services for local and multinational companies in various industries, including agriculture, food processing, health care, real estate, construction and hospitality. Vera has a comprehensive knowledge of business processes, such as business risks and controls, and is experienced with complex transactions, including acquisitions and revenue recognition.

Nada Barrett joined Moss Adams on May 1 from Deloitte, working out of the newly formed Fresno office. Nada has practiced public accounting since 1982 and has extensive experience serving private and public clients in a variety of industries. She currently focuses on privately held growth companies in the food processing, agribusiness, and manufacturing and distribution industries.

EDUCATION

Dr. Robert Dundas will serve as interim dean of the College of Science and Mathematics as a nationwide search continues for a permanent dean. Dundas has been the college’s Interim Associate Dean since January 2015. He joined the Fresno State faculty in 1998 as a lecturer, teaching in both the Departments of Biology and Geology. He moved into a tenure-track position in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, rising to the rank of professor.

MANUFACTURING

Betts Company announced that Jonathan Lee has joined the company in the newly created role of chief technology officer. Reporting to Bill Betts, president of Betts Company and its three divisions, Lee will play a key role in shaping the company’s technology strategy as it embarks on its next phase of growth and leadership in spring manufacturing and the heavy duty transportation industry.
