Nexstar Media Group, Inc. has announced that Fresno-based Matthew Rosenfeld has been promoted to senior vice president and regional manager for the chain of 174 television stations in 100 U.S. markets.

The appointment reflects Nexstar’s strategy to promote from within and from acquired entities by identifying proven broadcast and digital media leaders to oversee its assets on a regional basis, according to a news release.

Rosenfeld’s promotion is effective immediately upon the completion of Nexstar’s acquisition of Tribune Media Company, which is expected to occur in third quarter of 2019.

In his new role, Rosenfeld will work across the Nexstar organization and with other corporate personnel to improve operating efficiencies and the effectiveness and service of the company’s operations. Rosenfeld will continue to be based out of Nexstar’s Fresno operations.

Rosenfeld joined Nexstar following the acquisition of certain Granite Broadcasting and Newport Television assets in 2013 and has more than two decades of broadcasting and sales management experience. He currently serves as vice president and general manager of KSEE-TV (NBC), KGPE-TV (CBS) and YourCentralValley.com serving Fresno.

He also managed a $5-million capital investment in news operation and overall facility improvements to accommodate expanded local news and associated content production, while directing more focus on community involvement, according to a news release.

“I look forward to applying my management and sales experience to further strengthen Nexstar’s position as a leading provider of superior service to our clients, advertisers, and the local communities we serve,” Rosenfeld said.
