Regal and CJ 4DPLEX, an entertainment technology company that is leading innovations in cinematic technology, announced that a 4DX location is now open at Regal Edwards Fresno 4DX & IMAX in the River Park Shopping Center.

Developed by South Korean company CJ 4DPLEX, 4DX is an immersive theater technology that enhances the on-screen visuals of action-packed blockbusters through special effects that include motion-synchronized seats, wind, fog, rain, lighting, snow, bubbles, vibration and scents.

Regal Edwards Fresno 4DX is Regal’s third in California. The expansion is part of a deal with Cineworld Group, the parent company of Regal, to bring 85 4DX locations in the coming years. There are already 600 4DX theaters worldwide.

The first film shown on the 4DX screen at Regal Edwards Fresno will be “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”

“As we continue to implement cutting-edge innovation in our theatres, we are thrilled to bring the groundbreaking 4DX experience to Fresno moviegoers,” said Richard Grover, Regal’s vice president of communications. “Godzilla and the other blockbusters coming out this summer in 4DX are going to delight movie fans.”
