Airbnb expects high earnings for Fresno participants this coming weekend.

According to a release by the company, the Fresno Airbnb host community is estimated to earn $46,000 and welcome 740 guest arrivals during college commencement weekend, according to booking data for May 17-19. The 740 guest arrivals represent the second-largest number of Airbnb guests to Fresno.

“Graduating from college is an exciting moment for students and their loved ones, and we’re glad the Airbnb community can help welcome friends and family to Fresno to celebrate this achievement,” said Matt Middlebrook, Airbnb’s head of policy in California. “At the same time, this is an opportunity for Fresno residents to earn meaningful extra money to help pay the bills.”

Around three-fourths of Airbnb listings are located outside of main hotel districts, bringing economic benefits to neighborhoods that typically have not benefited from visitor spending. More than 40 of Airbnb visitor spending is done in the neighborhood in which a guest stays.
