Fresnans, get ready for another burger joint.

People anticipating what is going into the still-unannounced portion of River Park’s former World Sports Cafe space — here are a few more clues about the tenant.

According to documents filed with the city, The Hangar Burger Bar will fill the remaining 3,140 square feet, though the opening date is unclear.

First reported by The Business Journal, Taiwanese-style eatery JPot will take the other half of the now-divided space.

Assuming the burger bar will serve just that — hamburgers, permits filed with the City of Fresno also call for a “restaurant with alcohol sales.”

Tenant improvements are valued at $400,000, according to the permit, and there will be an outdoor dining area. The permit was filed in September 2018 and was approved for ongoing work.

A resident of Castiac in northern Los Angeles County, Christopher Lee filed an application to sell beer and wine with California Alcoholic Beverage Control through his corporation, Hangar Riverpark, Inc. The application was filed in December 2018.

A lack of web search results for Hangar Burger Bar suggests the restaurant maybe be a one-of-a kind, not part of a chain. The only Google search result for Hanger Burger Bar was for a restaurant in Brazil.

A bare-bones page for The Hangar Burger Bar on Facebook revealed nothing more than the correct address at the River Park Shopping Center.

The World Sports Cafe, across from Edwards Cinema, closed in 2014. JPot will take about 5,500 square feet of the space.

ABC30 reported earlier this week that JPot is nearing completion.
