The California Chamber of Commerce recently named 29 local chambers of commerce to receive the 2017 President’s Circle Award.

The Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce and the Porterville Chamber are the only Central Valley chambers to receive the award, which recognizes chambers for excellence in business advocacy and helping their members comply with California employment laws.

Other chambers in the San Joaquin Valley to receive the award include the Greater Bakersfield Chamber (which has won it every year since it was first presented in 2009), the Lodi Chamber, the Merced Chamber and the Oakdale Chamber.

Congratulations are due to Nathan Ahle, Fresno Chamber president and CEO, and Stephanie Cortez, Porterville Chamber president and CEO.

With the environment in Sacramento these days, small business owners need all the help they can get to keep track of some of the legislation that threatens jobs in the Golden State.

Once again, congratulations are due to the staff at the Fresno and Porterville chambers.
