Porterville-based Bank of the Sierra’s newest branch will promise all of the usual banking services, as well as proximity to sea air and some good clam chowder.

On the heels of its recent acquisition of Coast National Bank, Bank of the Sierra is expanding its Central Coast footprint with addition of a Pismo Beach branch set to open its doors in 2017.

The branch, to be located at 1401 Dolliver Street, is set to open its doors in 2017. It will join four other San Luis Obispo County branches of Bank of the Sierra added this year.

“We see Pismo Beach as a prime location for further expansion on the coast,” Bank of the Sierra President and CEO Kevin McPhaill said in a statement. “Our move into the Central Coast in 2016 greatly increased our possibilities and we look forward to the growth opportunities that this expansion will bring.”

As part of the $13.5 million cash-and-stock deal, Bank of the Sierra acquired the bank’s $146.4 million in assets and four branches in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Paso Robles and Atascadero.

Bank of the Sierra currently operates 33 full-service branches in California.
