Dr. Joaquin Arambula will be sworn in to the California Assembly tomorrow.

Arambula won an April 5 special election to represent the 31st Assembly District, which encompasses western Fresno County. He defeated Fresno City Councilmember Clint Olivier and retired businessman Ted Miller and will replace Henry T. Perea, who resigned from the Assembly late last year to take a job in the private sector.

Arambula, an emergency room physician and the son of former 31st District Assembly member Juan Arambula, will serve the remainder of Perea’s term, which runs through the end of this year.

The swearing-in ceremony will be part of tomorrow’s regular Assembly floor session and is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m.
