cchccThe Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was the recipient of the 2009 Fresno County Board of Supervisors Partnership Award.

This award was given to the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County for their support of the Fair Today Job Tomorrow Job Fair held on March 19 at the Fresno Fairgrounds Commerce and Agriculture Building.

More than 12,000 people attended the job fair and more than 24,000 applications were received by 126 employers. This event was free to the public and the employers. About 3,200 individuals received on-the-spot interviews and approximately 1,350 were potential hires from this event.

"On behalf of the members, board of directors and staff of the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce we are honored to receive this award. The chamber would like to thank the Fresno County Department of Employment & Temporary Assistance and the newest member of the team, the Economic Development Corporation of Fresno County.  It has been a pleasure working with them. " said John Hernandez, executive director of the chamber at the Fresno County Board of Supervisors meeting on June 9th.
