Fresno airport adds Mexico flights during holidays

Aeromexico announced plans to add its second international destination from Fresno with service to Morelia, Mexico beginning Dec. 18.

The airline began transporting passengers from the Fresno Yosemite International Airport to Guadalajara, Mexico in April 2011.

Those flights will now be complemented with once-weekly flights to the Morelia Airport in southern Mexico during the holiday season.

Aeromexico said it will continue the route during other peak travel periods if the trial service is successful.

The new route will operate on a 124-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft, departing Fresno on Wednesday at 2:06 a.m. and arriving in Morelia at 7:44 a.m.

Returning flights will depart from Morelia at 7:44 a.m., landing in Fresno at 12:51 a.m.

Aeromexico will also offer daily flights to the Miguel Hidal Airport in Guadalajara during the holiday season beginning mid-December.
