Verizon Wireless will be expanding its 4G network in Fresno in the coming weeks, the company announced.
Already available in Fresno, Verizon's 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) will now expanded to include residents in the West and South Fresno area, including Highway 180 and Highway 99.
Verizon's launched its 4G LTE service in December 2010.
Now available to more than 200 million people in 203 markets across the country, customers have had data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
The network supports more than 20 4G LTE devices, including tablets, smartphones and hotspots with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G service.
More information about 4G LTE and a list of current markets is available online at verizonwireless.com/lte.
