To recognize the contributions of the agricultural industry to the Central Valley economy and honor the individuals and local businesses, the Fresno Grizzlies have begun the Farm Grown marketing initiative for the 2012 season.
The club will also announce the first Farm Grown Community Partner Award winner on Ag Night on May 11.
“We as an organization feel Farm Grown will become an important part of the Grizzlies and the greater Fresno area,” said Drew Vertiz, the Grizzlies’ vice president of marketing, in a release. “We envision Farm Grown becoming a driver for the community to come together and celebrate what is great about the region. When someone from here does something great, such as give back to the community or change it for the better, we want people to say, ‘That is Farm Grown.’”
The team also said it will honor people and organizations that are both world-renowned and locally respected. The charitable and philanthropic efforts by community members will also be recognized.
