PG&E gives another $20K to small business roadshow

Pacific Gas & Electric Co. provided another $20,000 today to a small business training program targeting rural communities in the San Joaquin Valley.

Since launching late last year, the Small Business Roadshow by the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has received contributions from a variety of supporters, including AT&T, Fresno County, the Fresno County Economic Opportunities Commission and the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County.

The latest $20,000 contribution from PG&E is on top of a $35,000 donation the company made to the program last December.

The donation was made during a check presentation ceremony held today at the San Joaquin Learning Center with a special appearance by San Joaquin Mayor Amarprett Dhaliwal.

So far, the roadshow has visited communities like Firebaugh, Fresno, Clovis and Mendota, sending out consultants to deliver workshops to small business owners to guide them in everything from marketing, finances, legal challenges and various programs of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The consultants will be visiting San Joaquin today and on March 1 with classes running from 9 a.m. to noon.

Later this year, the roadshow will be making stops in Selma, Fowler and Hanford.

Those who wish to find out more information about the free classes may call the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at (559) 495-4817 or visit their website at www.cchcc.net.
