The public is being invited to the filming of "Showcase Showdown," HGTV's new prime-time series pitting two interior decorators against each other at De Young Properties' Ashley Pointe Community in Clovis.
The Fresno home builder's development will be featured on an upcoming episode of the new show as it premieres later this summer on HGTV. The show will have two interior decorators squaring off to see who can best decorate one of two identical EnergySmart homes located at 2109 Buckingham Ave. and 2117 Buckingham Ave.
Furnishings and amenities from De Young's design center and Mor Furniture will be used to create the interiors.
Filming will take place July 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by an open house voting session, where the first 100 people to show up will be given scorecards to help pick the competition's winner.
The first 300 people to arrive will be allowed to tour the completed homes. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive no earlier than 9 a.m. while children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
De Young Properties will also be holding a drawing for participants in which the winner will receive a $250 gas card. In addition, reserve spaces will be given away for the tour through the homebuilder's Facebook competition.
For those unable to attend on July 31, the public is also invited back to Ashley Pointe on August 6 and 7 to view the completed homes again.
