Fresno court's interim CEO made official

Sheran Morton was appointed as court executive officer of the Fresno County Superior Court, replacing Tamara Beard who retired in December.
As part of the appointment, Morton, who has been acting CEO for the last two months, also fills the positions of clerk of the court and jury commissioner.
Her career with the Fresno County Superior Court spans 27 years.
Starting as the first and only paralegal assigned to the Family Law Department, Morton was later promoted to the positions of supervising court examiner, manager of the Family Law Department, the court's first juvenile court administrator and director of operations.
In 2008, she became the assistant court executive officer directly responsible for the human resources, criminal, civil, and traffic divisions.
She has also been an instructor for the Court Clerk Training Institute.
Morton, 53, has a Bachelor of Science in business management and a Master's Certificate in judicial administration from California State University, Sacramento.
"Sheran Morton's unwavering commitment to the people of Fresno County will ensure that each person and every program at the court strives to deliver exceptional public service," said Presiding Judge Gary Hoff, in a statement.
