Mendota offers citizenship clinic Friday

California Central Legal Services will provide a free citizenship orientation workshop April 27 at Mendota High School.
The workshop is open to residents of Mendota, Tranquility, San Joaquin and Firebaugh. CCLS, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Education Fund and OneJustice have joined together to provide free naturalization and citizenship clinics in the Central Valley to help eligible legal permanent residents take their first step toward becoming U.S. citizens.
Those who attend the workshop will receive free information regarding the naturalization application process and the benefits and risks of applying for U.S. citizenship. Attorneys and volunteers will help those in attendance to determine their eligibility for naturalization.
