Julie Cleeland, a veteran administrator hailing from Community Medical Centers, has been appointed CEO of EYE-Q Vision Center in Fresno.
She replaces Scott Bridgeman, who announced his resignation from the 13-doctor vision care group in November 2011.
Cleeland has spent the last 18 years with Community Medical Centers in various administrative, business development and marketing positions, including as vice president of the ambulatory care division.
Most recently, Fresno State graduate Cleeland was a top administrator at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital.
In a statement, Cleeland said she is honored to land the job.
“I look forward to a long, productive future with the organization and its strong team of physicians," she said. "Together we will advance the positive impact EYE-Q has in the community and deliver the best possible outcomes for patients.”
Dr. Vivian Kim, ophthalmologist and president of the group's board, said Cleeland is equipped to meet future challenges and opportunities.
“She also brings a fresh perspective. She will be able to evaluate our business model and practices in a way that will help us build upon our current success," Kim said.
Previous CEO Bridgeman was with EYE-Q for 10 years, and originally formed Fresno firm Maverick Marketing as a marketing arm for EYE-Q in 2005. He left for a CEO position at the Florida Eye Clinic in Altamonte Springs, Fla., north of Orlando.
EYE-Q has been in practice for more than 50 years, and currently has offices in Fresno and Selma.
