Kings County health groups receive awards

The 2012 Community SolutionMakers Awards will be presented to groups that help build healthier communities.The 2012 Community SolutionMakers Awards will be presented to groups that help build healthier communities.Three Kings County organizations that help build healthier communities will receive 2012 Community SolutionMakers Awards from CalViva Health and Health Net Community Solutions, Health Net said in a release.

Valley Health Medical Group, Kings County Action Organization and Family HealthCare Network will be presented with their awards Thursday.

“CalViva Health and Health Net Community Solutions commend these dedicated community organizations for their daily efforts to build a healthier Kings County,” said Greg Hund, CEO of CalViva Health, in the release. “It’s an honor for us to recognize and salute organizations that share our values of helping improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”

In conjunction with the awards presentations, CalViva Health and Health Net are celebrating the grand opening of the downtown Hanford Community Office serving beneficiaries in Kings County, located at 315 W. Lacey Blvd. As part of the celebration, the public is invited to attend and take part in free body mass index (BMI), blood pressure and hearing screenings. Plus, children ages 2 to 12 may receive free dental screenings. All programs begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012.
