The Fresno Metro Black Chamber Foundation recently was named the recipient of a $30,000 grant from Walmart to create a program adressing employment growth in Fresno's urban and African American community.
The foundation, in conjunction with the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, created the Urban Core Business Diversity Project: Workforce Initiative to increase the soft skills capacity of urban and African American jobseekers.
"The project will encourage greater business diversity in the area of employment and management for urban and African-American communities", said Tate Hill, president of the chamber, in a release.
The project will also aim to build a virtual and real world network of jobseekers and employers.
