Tessenderlo to expand Valley fertilizer production

Tessenderlo Group reports that its subsidiary Tessenderlo Kerley Inc. will construct a liquid sulfur-based fertilizer production facility in Hanford and at the same time, expand its Fresno plant.
The expansions are expected to be completed by the second half of 2014.
“This expansion allows TKI to better seve its customers’ increasing requirements in the Western region of the U.S.,” said Jordan Burns, TKI’s chief executive officer.
Tessenderlo Kerley produces thiosulfate products that are sulfur-based liquid specialty fertilizers that can be applied to a wide variety of crops such as grapes, nuts and vegetables. The fertilizers are called KTS (potassium thiosulfate solution) and CaTs (calcium thiosulfate solution.)
The new Hanford facility and the optimized Fresno plant are in line with Tessederlo Group’s plans to develop its core business in agriculture.
Tessenderlo Kerley is a world leader in the production and marketing of specialty chemistries used in the agriculture, mining and process chemical industries, producing and marketing specialty chemicals. Along with fertilizers, the company produces soil fumigants, crop protection products and a variety of mining, process and water treatment chemicals.
