Winetasting and research event hits Fresno June 14

San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers AssociationSan Joaquin Valley Winegrowers AssociationThe latest grape varieties and research will be part of what's presented June 14 as the San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers Association hosts its 5th Annual Viticultural Research Roadshow & Education Wine Tasting.

In partnership with the UC Cooperative Extension, the event will feature wine tastings from new wine grape variety trials of local vintners.

As well, there will be presentations on everything from viticulture research funding and groundwater nitrates to pests, diseases and weed management in grape vineyards.

The event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the FEOC Nielsen Conference Center located at 3110 W. Nielsen Ave. in Fresno.

Registration is $25 or $40 if paid on the day of the event. Members of the San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers Association pay just $10.

The San Joaquin Vally Winegrowers Association was founded in 2002 and represents more than 50 wineries, grape growers and related businesses from Stockton to Bakersfield.
