The Business Journal has taken on a new summer intern to help round out our newsroom team. I'll let Ellena Woodhams introduce herself in her own words:
I am a senior finishing up my last few credits at California State University of Fresno. Upon my completion next December, I will have earned my Bachelor of Science degree in international business. It was never apparent to me that my future career lay in the written word. In fact, I was the typical college student with no clue as to what I was going to do with my degree. All I really knew was that I loved to be immersed in different cultures and to meet new people. I also had a flair for business. It was not until the summer of 2011 when I was visiting Bloomberg headquarters in London that I realized my passions could take me in a different direction.
Once I got back to the states, I immediately enrolled in an international communications class, my first communication class ever. As the class progressed, I not only learned about the way journalism works, but I realized that I had found my calling. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but it was only ever a means to end or for my own personal enjoyment. My new goal is to become an international business journalist, and what better place to start than The Business Journal?
