ZGS Communications announced today that Manuel Cervantes has been named General Manager of KNSO Telemundo Fresno.

ZGS and Telemundo recently strengthened their strategic alliance by, along with other initiatives, entering into a long-term agreement for ZGS to operate the station in Fresno beginning May 1.

Before ZGS began operating Telemundo Fresno, Cervantes served as the Acting General Manager and Vice President of Sales for the station, prior to holding that position he was the Sales Manager.   He has been with Telemundo Fresno for the past three years and has worked in various other capacities for both Telemundo and NBC.

"I am excited to be part of the ZGS team and the continued growth of Telemundo Fresno and its commitment to the Hispanic community of Central California," Cervantes.

Cervantes is a California native and an active member in the local Hispanic community.  He is involved with the Fresno Ad Federation, the Central Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Special Olympics.  As Acting General Manager of Telemundo Fresno, Cervantes has built local partnerships with the Fresno Fuego Soccer League, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Cervantes received a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles in Radio and Television Broadcasting.

"We are extremely pleased that Manuel is part of our team," said Julissa Marenco, president of the ZGS Station Group. "His experience and community focus are tremendous assets for both Telemundo Fresno and our station group. We welcome Manuel's leadership and commitment.
