CSET executive director Carolyn Rose is retiring after 30 years.Community Services and Employment Training executive director Carolyn Rose has announced that she will retire after 30 years of service to the community, CSET said in a release.
Hired as CSET executive director in 1982, Rose led a steady expansion of the organization — from operating several programs with a budget of $612,000 to more than 40 programs with a budget of $24.3 million, including the Sequoia Community Corps, a certified local conservation corps that was founded in 1986 and a residential weatherization program that makes homes more efficient.
“We are grateful for the years of service Carolyn committed to the residents of Tulare County,” CSET board chairman Gailerd Swisegood said in the release. “We are losing a true community champion. I firmly believe Tulare County is a better place because of Carolyn’s influence.”
Rose, a former teacher, is especially fond of the Junior Leadership Academy, which provides rural youth with community service, college preparation, Tech Connect and leadership and job training. Her last day will be June 29.
“I will dearly miss my CSET colleagues, the most talented and caring group of people imaginable,” Rose said in the release. “I look forward to watching from the sidelines as CSET steps up to the next level in its capacity to serve the community and sustained continued growth.”
