The developers of what will become northeast Fresno’s newest hotel, Hyatt Place Fresno, will host a groundbreaking for the 124-room facility July 17.

It will be located at 7345 N. Fresno St., on an undeveloped strip of land off of Highway 41 and Alluvial Avenue just west of the Kaiser Permanente Fresno Medical Center. It is near one of the hottest locations in Fresno for new development along the Friant Road corridor, not far from the new Dave & Buster’s location.

At completion — pegged in the first quarter of 2019 — Hyatt Place Fresno will include 130,000 square feet of space with amenities including a pool, Jacuzzi and gym.

It will also be the only hotel in north Fresno with an in-house restaurant, which will offer complimentary breakfast to its guests, said Gaurav Deep Sethi, V.P. of acquisitions and development for Carlsbad-based Sethi Management Inc.

“It will probably be the nicest hotel in the Valley” Sethi added.

He declined to disclose the price of the development.

Hyatt Place Fresno will create 40 new jobs and generate millions of dollars in taxes for Fresno, Sethi added.

The hotel is being developed as a partnership between the Sethi and Baz families, which includes Dr. Malik Baz of the Baz Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Center practice. The partnership also built a successful Holiday Inn Express just south of the Hyatt Place Fresno site, Sethi said.

The Sethi Management website lists a number of local convenience stores and eateries as part of its portfolio, in addition to a Motel 6 near Shaw Avenue and Highway 99 and hotels in Las Vegas and Arizona.

It also lists three other hotels as “coming soon” to Southern California.
